Professional Crappie Anglers United gives back to local communities

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Professional Crappie Anglers United donates time, knowledge and resources to improve the quality of life for anglers, veterans and children.

Professional Crappie Anglers United is a group of professionals passionate about growing the sport, being a voice for those who compete and encouraging and teaching the next generation. This organization is also here to share its knowledge with anyone who enjoys crappie fishing on any level, fun or sport.

“Whether you are a professional angler, a casual catcher or anywhere in between, PCAU is here to better you and the world around you through the love of crappie fishing,” PCAU President Charlie Bunting said.”

The dedicated board of directors regularly shares the knowledge they have acquired over the years, provides access to discounts generally reserved for competitive anglers, and hosts weekly giveaways on products they use.

PCAU not only gives back to competitive anglers and casual catchers, but this group also reaches those in their communities with significant needs by giving our time and resources to charitable causes such as families with food insecurities, veterans and children.

“PCAU is working with charitable groups such as the Food Harvest, Shriners, Operation Freedom Outdoors and other scholarship programs,” professional angler Tommy Ezell said. “We are currently working to establish an angler’s legacy tournament and awards/recognition event. The proceeds of this event will support scholarship programs.”

In the past ten months, PCAU has helped feed over 10,000 families, supported several veteran events, orchestrated a donation of over $100,000 to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, provided thousands of dollars in additional payouts at the Crappie Masters National Championship, helped anglers earn sponsorships and hosted live social media events to help share knowledge within the fishing industry.

“Our accomplishments also include helping the casual angler earn product discounts, coordinating with national trails and fishing expos, creating educational forums and supporting guide services,” said Frank Haidusek, professional angler. “We even have worked with boat companies and marine dealerships to provide contingency money for anglers who win using their make of boat or purchased from their dealership.”

PCAU also serves as a liaison between businesses and State Crappie Trails, providing an avenue for additional payouts and prizes to crappie anglers fishing their local and state trails. In the near future, the organization will host a web page serving the public by listing popular fishing locations and the guides that service these areas.

“We are dedicated to helping all crappie anglers, from the professional to the casual angler,” Bunting said. “PCAU supports conservation efforts, safety regulations and rules that govern our industry. Let’s keep our industry and waters clean.”

Having consistent and enforced rules and regulations allows everyone to enjoy the sport of crappie fishing.
